I chose to enter the race for State Representative because I believe the current system isn’t working.  So much of what happens, and more importantly, what doesn’t happen, is based on getting re-elected and partisan politics.  I believe that representing the best interests of the people should come first.  I believe that Oregon’s pioneer spirit has been trapped by partisan politics.

My experience and abilities have taught me that government’s best role is to facilitate a successful citizenry.  Working toward better management of Oregon’s resources, I know  that a stronger Oregon will only result from hard work and keeping the focus on the people.  I have experience in making things work both for today and for the future.

  • I will focus on education and job creation to offer citizens an opportunity to shape a more reliable marketplace.
  • I will support creating growth in Southern Oregon small businesses through loans and new opportunities.
  • I will fight for quality education at all levels. I will work hard to improve the knowledge and capabilities of all Oregonians.
  • I will support reforms that decrease costs and strengthen Oregon’s economy and livability.

I believe that legislators must lead. Politicians must work for the people of Oregon not their own self interest or to be re-elected. There needs to be a strong voice that speaks up about what is right for the people of Southern Oregon. It is not enough to be a gatekeeper. A representative must be willing to be a problem solver and to work towards solutions for the people of  Southern. I will commit to being that kind of representative.
